AI Use Disclosure

AccuCV uses artificial intelligence to generate resume content. This page explains exactly what AI technology we use, what data is sent to it, and what that means for you.

1. What AI Technology We Use

Resume generation on AccuCV is powered by Claude, a large language model (LLM) developed by Anthropic, PBC (San Francisco, CA, USA). We access Claude via Anthropic's commercial API.

Claude reads the inputs you provide and produces text — in this case, tailored resume content — based on patterns learned during its training. It does not browse the internet, access external databases, or have access to your device.

2. What Data Is Sent to the AI

When you click "Generate Resume", the following data is transmitted to Anthropic's API:

• The job description you paste or provide;
• Your professional profile: title, work history, education, skills, projects, and certifications that you have entered into the form — but not your name, email address, phone number or LinkedIn URL;
• Your selected resume template and section preferences;
• A system prompt authored by AccuCV that instructs Claude on formatting and tailoring rules.

What is not sent: your name, email address, phone number or LinkedIn URL; payment information; your Clerk authentication tokens; or any data from other users' sessions. The finished resume is assembled with your contact details in your browser, so those four fields never leave our servers for Anthropic's. Everything else above is transmitted only at the moment of generation, not at any other time.

The career tools send the same profile, plus the city you entered. Those tools advise on a specific local job market, which is the one thing a city is needed for.

Importing a resume is the exception. If you populate your profile from an uploaded or pasted resume, that document's full text is sent to Anthropic to be read into the fields, and a resume normally carries your name and contact details in its header. The same is true of the no-account preview on /try. Entering your profile by hand keeps those details off the request entirely.

3. How Anthropic Handles Your Data

Anthropic processes the data submitted via its commercial API under its Privacy Policy and API Terms of Service. Key points:

• Anthropic's commercial API customers' data is not used to train Claude models by default. Inputs and outputs are not retained by Anthropic beyond what is needed to fulfill the request, subject to any safety monitoring obligations.
• Anthropic may retain inputs for a limited period for trust and safety purposes (e.g., to detect abuse).
• Anthropic's servers are located primarily in the United States. By using AccuCV, you acknowledge that your data will be processed in the United States in accordance with Anthropic's policies.

4. What the AI Does and Does Not Do

Claude does:

• Rewrite and tailor your experience bullet points to align with the job description;
• Generate a professional summary relevant to the role;
• Highlight skills that match the job posting;
• Suggest an optimized resume title;
• Produce a job-match score and rationale.

Claude does not:

• Verify the accuracy of your provided information — it takes your inputs at face value;
• Guarantee employment outcomes or ATS rankings;
• Access the internet or external job boards;
• Make decisions about your application — it generates text for you to review and edit.

5. Your Responsibility to Review AI Output

AI-generated content can contain errors, hallucinations, or phrasing that does not accurately reflect your actual experience. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all generated content before submitting a resume to any employer.

Do not submit a resume that contains inaccurate information. Misrepresenting your qualifications to a prospective employer may have legal and professional consequences that AccuCV cannot be held responsible for.

6. Career Tools (Pro)

AccuCV Pro includes a set of career analyses — finding job titles that match your experience, comparing you against a specific job description, mapping career changes, ranking industries, rewriting your positioning for a target role, and building a job-search plan. These are produced by Claude in the same way resume content is, from the profile you have saved, and everything above in this page applies to them.

Two things are specific to these tools and worth stating plainly.

Salary figures and hiring-demand rankings are estimates, not market data. Several of these analyses quote compensation ranges or rank how in-demand a role or industry is. Claude has no connection to any live jobs board, salary survey or labour-market dataset. Those figures come from patterns in its training data, which has a cut-off date and no knowledge of your specific city, sector or the current state of hiring. They may be out of date and they may simply be wrong. Treat them as a starting point for your own research — check them against current listings before you rely on one in a salary negotiation or a decision to change career.

The positioning rewriter reframes your experience; it does not add to it. That tool rewrites your summary and experience bullets to suit a role you may not have held. It is instructed to change emphasis, vocabulary and ordering only — never to invent qualifications, metrics, tools or seniority that are not in your profile — and each rewritten line is shown next to your original and labelled as your own words, reworded, or newly written, so you can check it. It is also required to state what you genuinely lack for the target role. As with any AI output, that instruction is not a guarantee: review every line before you use it, and see section 5 above.

These reports are advisory. They are not career advice from a qualified adviser, not a prediction of whether you will be hired, and not a substitute for your own judgement about your career.

7. You Own the Output

The resume content generated by Claude using your personal data belongs to you. AccuCV does not claim any intellectual property rights over the generated output. We do not use your generated resumes to improve the service or share them with third parties. Generated resumes are stored on our servers, associated with your account, and can be deleted at any time from the Account & Data page.

8. Opting Out

AccuCV's core functionality depends on AI generation. If you do not wish your professional data to be sent to Anthropic's API, you should not use the resume generation feature. You may still access and export any data you have already stored locally by visiting the Account & Data page.

You may delete your account and all associated server-side data at any time from the Account & Data page.
