Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
AccuCV ("we", "us", "our") operates the AccuCV AI resume tailoring service at accucv.ca. We are the data controller for personal information collected through the Service.
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@accucv.ca.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you register, Clerk (our authentication provider) collects your email address and, optionally, your name and profile picture. We receive a unique user identifier and basic profile data from Clerk.
Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We never receive or store your full credit card number. Stripe shares with us your billing status, subscription ID, and Stripe customer ID.
Usage data. We store a generation counter in your account to enforce free-tier limits and track referral bonuses. We do not store analytics beyond this counter on our servers.
Resume and profile data. Your professional profile (work history, skills, education, contact details) and any saved resumes are stored on our servers, associated with your account. Job descriptions you paste are transmitted to our servers during generation and may be stored as part of a saved resume. This data is also sent to Anthropic during AI generation (see Section 4).
Log data. Our hosting infrastructure (Vercel) may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, request timestamps, and pages visited. These logs are retained for up to 30 days.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account;
- To process payments and manage your subscription;
- To enforce free-tier usage limits and referral credits;
- To send transactional emails (e.g., receipts, account notices);
- To investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service;
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for behavioural advertising.
4. AI Processing of Your Resume Data
When you click "Generate Resume", we transmit the job description and your professional profile (work history, education, skills, etc.) to Anthropic, PBC via their API to generate tailored resume content using the Claude language model.
This data is processed under Anthropic's Privacy Policy and API Terms of Service. Anthropic's commercial API does not use submitted inputs to train its models.
See our full AI Use Disclosure for a detailed description of what is sent to Anthropic and how the output is used.
